Fundamental human rights stipulated by the UN Declaration of Human Rights, their recognition and protection is one of the key factors for the successful development of democratic society based on the equality and the rule of law. Unfortunately, cases of their violations are so widespread in Ukraine and in the world that there is the urgent need to develop consistent strategy of their protection and promotion. The protection of human rights in Ukraine is one of priorities for the Foundation for Regional Initiatives. The Foundation initiated and successfully implemented a number of projects aimed at protecting rights of Ukrainian citizens. Special attention was paid to the protection of rights of national minorities, migrants, disabled people and prisoners.
